The Narrator, played by Kaitlyn Hayes, listens to the heart of the Old Man
Portland Ballet stages “Three Tales by Poe,” with haunting original choreography inspired by the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe. His writing offers rich opportunity for fun, sleek dances, created by the company’s artistic director Nell Shipman. Portland Ballet presents “Three Tales by Poe” at 7 p.m. Friday; 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday; 7 p.m. Oct. 23; and 3 and 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in its 75-seat studio theater at 517 Forest Ave., Portland. Tickets range from $25 to $30 for most performances. Opening night includes a reception, for $50.
