The inaugural Portland Food Launch & Festival was day to celebrate local food producers. If the Launch, specifically for folks in the food industry, was the meat and potatoes, the Festival was the sweet note on which to end the day. Altogether, 900 people bought tickets for either of these events at Thompson’s Point in Portland, held in conjunction with Maine Startup and Create Week. The Festival was an opportunity to interact with growers, brewers, chefs and artists while enjoying local food and drink, live music and even a virtual reality glimpse of lobster fishing.
