You will never enjoy staring at City Hall as much as you’ll enjoy staring at City Hall next Saturday. That’s because the facade of Portland’s city building is getting PaintScaped. Projectors are involved. And 3D technology. And if it’s anything like the work PaintScaping has already done, it will be amazing:
PaintScaping, out of Los Angeles, has been transforming buildings all over for a while – but this is their first attempt at turning a city hall into something that will stop passersby in their tracks. Not that our city hall isn’t quite a head-turner already. Because it is.
The June 8 show is designed to pay homage to the City of Portland and kick-off the 40th anniversary Old Port Festival, which takes place the next day.
PaintScaping: Saturday at 8:30 pm. The 30-minute display will repeat itself every half hour until 10 pm.
