And by “naked,” they mean without sets, lighting and elaborate costumes.

The Shakespeare returns to Westbrook’s Riverbank Park June 14-16 with two productions, War of the Roses and The Tempest, during the Riverbank Shakespeare Festival. The performances feature adult actors and teen actors from Acorn’s Young Actors Shakespeare Conservatory. They also feature “political intrigue, sword fights, backstabbing, and some of England’s most exciting history.”

Audiences are welcome to set up picnic chairs and enjoy the ambiance a half-hour before the shows begin. For more information, contact Acorn Productions at 854-0065 or visit

Both productions are free, although there is a $10 suggested donation.
