Wish Otto Pizza a Happy 5th Birthday with Elliot Brood

Written by: Susan Axelrod

Portland’s beloved Otto turns 5 on June 18, but the crew is celebrating early with a musical event at 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at One Longfellow Square.

I had a chance to listen to Elliot Brood at Otto on Munjoy Hill last year and will tell you, the band — three guys from Toronto — is captivating and intense. In the best way. According to the Otto blog:

Elliott Brood is a powerful three-piece specializing in an artfully unique brand of alt-country guaranteed to move you – physically and emotionally.  Whether churning out urgent, boot-stomping sing-alongs or lyrically-rich soot-stained ballads, these guys are the real deal.

Opening for Elliot Brood is Sympathy and the Lion, an alt-folk duo from Pennsylvania. There will also be giveaways and other fun party favors.

Tickets are $12. Get them HERE.
