Richard Thompson is back in Maine for two shows this weekend. His Thursday night show at The Strand in Rockland is completely sold out BUT there are still a few left for the Friday night show in Westbrook.

I’ve seen him live a number of times through the years and he is SENSATIONAL. His guitar playing is frankly incredible and his songwriting is among the best you’ll hear.

I was fortunate enough to have a chat with him in 2014 and continue to be a big fan. My dance card is already full on Friday night but I STRONGLY encourage you to think about catching this performance.

Richard Thompson with Joyce Anderson
WHEN: 8 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Westbrook Performing Arts Center, 671 Stroudwater St., Westbrook
HOW MUCH: $46.50, general admission
INFO: heptunesconcerts.com

Here are 5 Thompson songs to offer you further motivation to see Thompson live.

1. One of the greatest songs ever written. It kills me. Here’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning”

2.  “Wall of Death”

3. “From Galway to Graceland”

4. “Bone Through Her Nose”

5. “Shoot Out the Lights”
