Ray LaMontagne coming to Thompson’s Point on June 16

The 2016 Maine summer concert lineup got a huge blast of good news today with the announcement of Ray LaMontagne at Thompson’s Point on June 16.

That’s right, Ray’s back! And he’s sounding sensational. Take a listen to “Hey, No Pressure,” the first single off of his forthcoming album “Ouroboros.” The album release date is March 4, which is the same day tickets go on sale.

And for a trip back in time, here’s the first song I ever heard Ray sing. It’s called “Still Can’t Feel the Gin.” This version was recorded a show at the St. Lawrence Arts Center in Portland in April of 2003. It remains my favorite song in his repertoire. What’s yours?

And not unlike Patty Griffin, Ray doesn’t live here anymore but he’ll always be a Mainer. Oh and get this, Ray’s new backing band is essential My Morning Jacket minus Jim James. Not too shabby!
