She has been obsessed with - and inspired by - music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She bought her first Rolling Stones record at a flea market when she was in 7th grade and discovered David Bowie a year later. She's a HUGE fan of the local music scene and covers it along with national musical happenings in her "Face the Music" column and with artist interviews that appear in print in the Portland Press Herald and online at Mainetoday.com. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets. Aimsel is also the host of Music from 207 on 98.9 WCLZ and appears monthly on the News Center Maine TV show “207” to talk about...music of course.

8 p.m. Saturday. Jonathan's, 92 Bourne Lane, Ogunquit, $27.50. jonathansogunquit.com Bangor native and nationally known singer-songwriter returns to his home state for a show in Ogunquit. Howie Day's debut record was released 15 years ago and three have followed including "Lantern," released earlier this year. Anna Rose opens the show with a set of rock, blues, pop and folk. Emilia Dahlin Quartet
7 p.m. Saturday. Deertrees Theatre, 156 Deertrees Road, Harrison, $14 to $22. deertrees-theatre.org Award-winning Portland singer-songwriter Emilia Dahlin will be joined by Adam Frederick on bass, Pete Morse on guitar and drummer Seth Kearns for a performance that will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Deertrees Theatre. In fact, the show will be recorded and released as a "Live from Deertrees" album in the coming months. Dahlin's music is a fusion of folk and vintage jazz and as a quartet, you can expect the show to swing, groove and provide the Deertrees with a proper tribute. (Courtesy photo)
