You recommended, I listened: A visit to the Lewiston Salvation Army

I was referred by a reader in this post (see the comments section) to check out the Salvation Army in Lewiston. So what did I do with my free time on a Saturday? Drove up to LA of course! Here’s what I thought.

At first glance, holy hot. It was a 90 degree day and I could see the industrial fan from the parking lot. I was about to do some very sweaty thrifting.

It was totally empty on a Saturday afternoon. Which made me happy but also made me question if I’d find anything good. If this was the SoPo Goodwill, it’d be packed. But I maintained a positive attitude. Perhaps this was an undiscovered mecca of glorious vintage and designer wares?

I surveyed most of the racks and came up mostly empty-handed. There was definitely a great selection of old lady blouses (which you all know I love) and certainly tons of sweaters that I should have rifled through more. But again, it was 90 degrees. I might not have been in the right frame of mind for this.

As per usual, I did end up finding a few things to take home. Nothing I couldn’t live without, but dagnabbit if I drove all the way to LA, I was not going home empty-handed!

everyone needs an oversized beaded t-shirt

major score! early 90’s topshop maxi dress for $4

While I don’t think I’ll be going out of my way for another trip to this locale again, like any thrifting adventure, you’ve got to just get it on the right day.

Have you been here before? Are there any other thrifting spots I am missing out on? SHARE THE WEALTH! Let me know in the comments!
