Laura Serino

After visiting Maine only a handful of times, Laura Serino packed up her studio apartment in New York City and headed north for "the way life should be." After a summer on North Haven island, she and her boyfriend, a Maine native, settled in Portland, Maine. Serino is a former magazine editor who has been published in national and regional publications. When she isn't blogging, she spends her time antiquing, scouring thrift shops, exploring new places in Maine and cozying up to her cat Jasper. She recently completed her first book, "Twentysomething Girl, 1001 Quick Tips and Tricks to Make Your Life Easier." Reach her at info@forefrontfashion.com Follow her: @ForeFrontFash

The way a trio should be

My favorite street style photographs are of groups of friends. Sometimes they all look like they can share eachother’s closets and other times they each have very unique, individual style (like these Falmouth High Schoolers). In college, my best friends and I would have probably been photographed with one of us in a polo shirt, one of us in palazzo pants, another dressed like an urban sailor and I probably would have been in a fur vest. You just never know.

These Maine friends are roommates, so it’s quite possible that they really do share a closet. I’d categorize them into the “well-coordinated” friends group, but certainly each have their own individual flair. And what’s under that coat, my dear?
