Maine-made shops to check out today

Supersized Recycled Malt Bag / One Woman Studio

One Woman Studio in Ellsworth
The recycled feed bag craze has not been done this well before. One Woman Studio creates recycled and functional totes, bags and aprons from things like feed bags, lumber wrap and my personal favorites: malt bags! You’ll find classic totes styles but I especially love her oversized styles – perfect for toting to the grocery store or beach. Some bags also have a vegan leather bottom for added durability.

Rose Gold Stacking Rings / The Stray Arrow

The Stray Arrow in Portland
I may have found my new favorite jewelry destination. Described as “romantic with an edge”, for me her rings are a real stand out. She also offers a selection of jewelry for guys that I think they’d actually want to wear. And if you want to give the special lady in your life something sweet for Valentine’s Day – here you go.

Handmade Drop Waist Dress / FasChanableLady

FasChanableLady in Waterville
Finding a shop that feels like shopping in your Grandmother’s basement is exactly what I like to find. This shop has vintage clothes, handmade items, formal gowns and a category called “Whatnots” which is pretty much the best name ever.

Rhinestone Encrusted Bridal Sash / Lilly Knots

Lilly Knots in Gorham
Since I’ve started wedding planning, I have a newfound appreciation for all things “bling”. One of the challenges I’ve found is finding great Maine-made accessories and bridal options locally, so consider me tickled when I stumbled across this shop. If you need a little glitz for your upcoming nuptials, look here first.
