The best bargain beauty buys: black eyeliners

The Tester: Veronica Rooney from Portland

Her daily routine: Very minimal- Usually I’ll wear eyeliner and use face lotion. Sometimes I’ll add mascara and occasionally I’ll do a full face.

Every woman needs a perfect black eyeliner in her beauty arsenal, so I asked Veronica to test 4 drugstore favorites. Here’s what she thought.

Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Onyx

  • Doesn’t draw well
  • Eyeliner seems dry so it drags when applying
  • Smudges and comes off fairly easily
{WINNER} Rimmel ScandalEyes in Black

  • Very precise
  • Removes easily and smudges easily
  • Dark, bold color
  • Fades as day goes on

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black

  • Very hard to remove
  • Too thick- hard to be detailed
  • Stays on forever
Wet & Wild Brow & Eye Liner in Black
  • Must be sharpened
  • Hard to be detailed
  • Smudges easily- but stays on throughout the day

The clear winner from this roundup was Rimmel ScandalEyes which looked great on Veronica and was her favorite of the four! Thanks for helping Veronica!
