Resale art to relove: Goodwill’s Art for Everyone sneak peek [photos!]

Written by: Shannon Bryan

Art is plenty of things. Subjective. Beautiful. Misunderstood. Thought-provoking. Colorful. Comical.

What art often isn’t: Affordable.

But at Goodwill Industries of Northern New England‘s annual Art for Everyone: A Collection of Donated Art event, the art for sale will be budget-friendly and, dare we say it, affordably priced. Folks who’ve long appreciated the works hanging on gallery walls can hopefully find a piece they love to take home (legally and without breaking the bank). The sale features over 200 pieces of artwork donated to Goodwill stores, including oils, watercolors, drawings, mixed media, and prints. The collection is curated from donations made to Goodwill’s 27 retail stores across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. And to get shoppers in the art-buying spirit: live music by local band the Wetsuits.

Art for Everyone runs 5-8 pm Friday (during First Friday Art Walk) at Cathedral Church of St. Luke (143 State Street) in Portland. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
