Put away the parkas, pull out the trenches!

Nothing makes me more pleased than gently stuffing my down jackets, scarves, mittens and wooly things into a big plastic bin until next year. Godspeed gloves! Farewell fleece! And hello spring jackets. I spotted these girls and was reminded of why spring layering is so much more pleasant. First of all, the trench. The any-weather icon that every guy or gal looks good in.

I also love an army green jacket – they’re just the right amount of toughness to wear over a girly spring dress. Her gold tassel necklace was given to her from her former theater teacher during a costume closet clean-out.
