A peek inside my new closet (and life)

Hello friends! Good GOD I’ve missed you all. I have taken a short blogging break to pack up my Portland apartment and move to a cabin on North Haven island for the summer. SWOON, right? As you all know by now, I’m getting married out here in September to a lobsterman that fishes in Penobscot Bay. Rather than commute through Red’s Eats traffic all summer long, I decided to pack it up and move on out. But don’t worry. You’ll still see me around town every week, spotting for stylish Portlanders. But now you may also get the occasional lobsterman fashion post too.

For full shock and awe value, I wanted to show you my new closet. Talk about a test in “paring down”. For reference of what I was working with before this was the closet in my Portland apartment, which was custom built to handle my assortment of vintage dresses and sequin jackets.

This is my new closet.

Gah! So tiny! But oh so wonderful!

And this is the rest of it. Two shelves of jeans, shorts, tees, tanks and yes–that’s a basket of underwear. I believe in full transparency on ye old blog.

I also pared down my jewelry collection from six hanging hooks in my bedroom to this little tray.

Naturally my gold Cleopatra necklace made the cut.

So there it is! My new closet! And my new summer lifestyle living in a cabin with a stunning view, an outdoor shower and an outhouse. Thanks to some very wonderful and generous friends, the lobsterman and I plan on having a superb summer.

My apologies for leaving you for so long, dear FFF readers. But I’m back. I just have fewer clothes to wear now.
