Five for Friday! Forget sweater weather, it's cardigan season

That whole sweater weather term is strongly overused (I too am guilty) but my favorite sweaters of the season are the cardigan. They look great layered over virtually everything, they’re fairly unisex, and when you take them off they don’t give you terrible sweater hair. It’s a real term. Look it up.

Bliss Boutique

The Portland Collection at Bliss Boutique
Even though this cardigan is named after “that other Portland”, it’s pure wool and modeled after a vintage Pendleton sweater. It’s made in the USA and in a perfectly oversized silhouette. Save your pennies for this one, but trust me, it will be well worth the investment.

Portland Trading Co.

Plaid Wool Cardigan from Portland Trading Co.
Could there be a more perfect plaid? No. There could not. And the leather wrapped buttons are just that perfect finishing touch.  If you try and purchase this sweater, it might not be there anymore since I plan on picking it up this weekend. Just TRY and beat me!

Vintage American Eagle from Find
I love this take on an oversized birds-eye print. Again, leather wrapped buttons. Are we sensing a trend here? Find just posted this one the other day and while it might not still be at the Portland location, you can bet they have a bevy of other swoon worthy styles.

Cherry Belle Designs

Upcycled Cardigans from Cherry Belle Designs
All cardigans, all the time. Cherry Belle upcycles cardigans and makes them anew with cute motifs and hand done details. I’d wear one of these with a swingy midi skirt and pretend to be Betty Draper for a day.

Handknit vintage cardigan from Bonan
In the color of the season – mustard! And check out those rad 70’s buttons.
