Another “Five for Friday” roundup is here! This time I’ve been on the hunt for vintage coats – not the heavy-duty wintry kind, but the kind we can start wearing now. Think blazers, heavy flannels and the like! Here are five picks if you’re looking to bundle up in something new.
A Fistful of Vintage
This is the spot for guys. Run by the snappily dressed Alex Yakovleff, clean, tailored blazers abound at this shop. If you’re looking for a dapper item, look no further. Sport coats aren’t just for “weddings” fellas, but with jeans too. Mmmkay?
Saphoona
A great assortment of outerwear that ranges from a swing maxi style coat from the 60’s to sheepskin vests, you’ve got to really dig since the shop isn’t organized that well. But once you do dig, like all good thrift haunts, you’ll find some treasure. Also don’t miss out on her hat and cold-weather accessories where I’ve got multiple items favorited.
Lucille’s
The ladies of Lucille’s have a keen eye for what women want. In fact, they should have starred in that movie. NOT Mel Gibson. If someone doesn’t buy this one with the mink collar, I don’t know what I’ll do. Probably watch a Mel Gibson movie fest.
Shop Folk
On the hunt for that perfect denim vest or jacket? This is the shop for you!
P2P Thrift
A great mix of layering options with a keen eye on what’s on trend today in the market. You’ll find military styles, jean jackets and power blazers.
