Fairisle in fair weather

What polar vortex? People are milling around Portland without their coats on! It isn’t exactly time to pull out the shorts yet (although I spotted 3, yes 3 men in shorts over the weekend), but the warmer temps are a nice reprieve from having to wear big, bulky coats. This Cambridge, MA resident was in Portland for the weekend and looked positively perfect in her fairisle sweater and red pants, a great winter ensemble for a balmy day.

And what better bag to use for a weekend away than a classic Kanken? I love the resurgence of these backpacks. I remember a very handsome Swedish exchange student in my high school used to always carry one around. I wonder if Bernhard still wears his…le sigh.

I didn’t notice this then, but it looks like she uses ribbons as laces for her hiking shoes. She’s inspired me to update my Bean Boots!
