A high school junior who is way cooler than me

Sometimes when I meet really cool high school students, I wish I had a photo with me of when I was their age. I think when I was a high school junior I was wearing reverse fit black Gap jeans and sweaters that I’d steal from my Mom. Her bad sweaters. Luckily the world has come a long way since then.

I met this Cheverus high school student on an early evening walk. Colorful hair is not overrated, but I like that she kept hers simple with a blue streak in front. The military jacket atop her astronaut tee was young and fresh. I know I’m just an old lady but I’m pretty sure her entire outfit was cool.

I asked her about her “future” plans, since I am interested in the youth of America. She’s hoping to go to Maryland for college and then come back to Maine. Phew.
