Portland’s best bites of last week were precursor to Maine Restaurant Week, now in full swing

Written by: John Golden

It’s often said  that you can never get a bad meal in Italy. And that’s becoming increasingly  so in Portland and  other parts of Maine as the statewide celebration of our restaurants is under way as featured in Maine Restaurant Week.

Last week proved the point as though I had been readying my palate for some mighty fine dining. This included a bento box lunch at Kushiya Benkay, a sumptuous dinner at the Cumberland Club to a string of small plates at Sur-Lie.  Here’s a peek to whet your appetite for restaurant week.
