It’s March and that means daylight savings time, the disappearance of that psychotic snow bank in your yard, and March Madness. I’m not just talking about the NCAA basketball tournament, I’m talking about the bracketed-style competition that is truly as cool as the other side of the pillow: The Maine Madness Beer Tournament. (For more on the tournament’s background & how we did the draft: It’s coming! The Maine Madness Beer Tournament begins March 26)

If you study the Maine Beer Madness bracket closely, you’ll see that we are in for some wild early round matchups. Round one pits one of Maine’s best selling beers, Pumpkinhead, against one of Maine’s most critically acclaimed beers, The Substance.

The voting for the 2015 Maine Madness Beer Tournament continues until April 6, with our championship matchup coinciding with the men’s NCAA championship basketball game. Check the Maine Madness Tournament page on Facebook to stay apprised of the tournament over the next few weeks.

Our motto at the Maine Madness Beer Tournament is: To Drink ME is to Love ME. So do a lot of ‘research’ each round to discover new Maine beers, and vote below your favorite Maine brews.

Note: Round One voting has closed. Vote now in Round Two.
