Sex, murder & mayhem: A walking tour of Saco, Maine

Funtown. Rapid Rays. Murder.

These are the things that make a town. Not just any town. Saco, Maine. And let’s not forget the prostitutes.

Typically it’s the burger joints and amusement parks that pop into people’s heads when you start talking about Saco. And no wonder. Those are nice, happy things. But Saco has a seedy side, too. That side has murder, sex, and other “seamy activities.” And you can hear about them all during a walking tour this October.

Dyer Library/Saco Museum is hosting the “Sex, Murder, & Mayhem: Adults Only Walking Tour of Saco” at 6:30 pm on October 11 and October 18. The continuous walking tour meets at the Saco Museum and will include tales of Saco’s past that most folks might not know about. A $10 donation is suggested. Space on the tours is limited so advanced registration is encouraged. Email Camille Smalley at csmalley@sacomuseum.org or call 207-283-3861 ext. 113 to reserve your space.
