It’s the superstar chef-stacked Maine food and drink happening that kicks off the summer. The Kennebunkport Festival, June 3-8, is right around the corner. Hosted by Maine Magazine, the festival, now in its 10th year, celebrates the work of top Maine chefs, bartenders, sommeliers, artists and musicians. If you haven’t yet made plans to attend, tickets are still available for the following can’t-miss events:
Friday, June 6, 6:30 p.m. | Wells Reserve at Laudholm, Wells | $250 | TICKETS
Chef Melissa Kelly from Primo, Rockland, chef Justin Walker from Earth in Kennebunkport, chef Pichet Ong from New York City and chef de cuisine Brian Rae from Rialto in Boston will each prepare one course for a special, one-off dinner inspired by wood elements. The dinner will be at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm, with cocktails served on the lawn and dinner in the barn, which will be decorated by Details Event Staging.
Saturday, June 7, 1-5 p.m. | The Green at The Captain Lord Mansion, Kennebunport | $15 | TICKETS
Spencer Albee and the League of Bandsmen bring the best of Motown to the green for a family friendly event — with beer for grownups. There will be food trucks and other vendors, too. You are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, but outside food and drink is not allowed.
Saturday, June 7 | Noon – 4 p.m. | Riverside tent, Kennebunkport | $65 | TICKETS
Taste your way around the world. More than 25 chefs and beverage experts will offer small bites and sips inspired by the cuisines of eight different countries. Participants include chef Shannon Bard of Zapoteca, chefs Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier of Arrows and MC Perkins Cove and bartender Andrew Volk of Portland Hunt & Alpine Club.
