Portland’s come a long way since Prohibition. It’s a period some drinkers might like to forget. On the other hand, it’s also interesting to harken back to the old days and Portland’s brewing and distilling history. It’s even better to harken back with a drink in your hand that neither Neil Dow or anyone else is going to take from you.
Maine Cocktail Tours combine Portland’s cocktails with Portland’s history in 2.5-hour walking tours. There are five stops along the way to sample the city’s cocktails, and plenty of education, too.
The cost is $49 and includes all drinks (and wisdom). Drinks won’t be full-sized, to help keep tourgoers from – ahem – over-appreciating and making bad “I’m on vacation” decisions.
