Comfort food, charity on the menu at The Good Table in Cape Elizabeth

So it’s a Wednesday. And you have no clue what to do for dinner. Takeout pizza? Leftovers? Here’s a much better idea: head on out to The Good Table in Cape Elizabeth for their weekly Public Suppers on Wednesday nights. If you’re not familiar with this Cape mainstay, it’s at 577 Ocean House Rd. (Route 77), where Tony and Lisa Kostopoulos have been welcoming diners for 25 years.

On Wednesdays evenings this winter, the friendly folks at The Good Table will serve comfort-food classics for $15 or less per plate, with $1 for each dinner served donated to charity. On the menu tonight:

  • Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy
  • Roast loin of pork stuffed with Madeira-soaked apricots and prunes with mashed potatoes and braised carrots
  • Chef Ryan Weeks’ Fried Chicken with a pink-peppercorn honey sauce, cole slaw and biscuit

… and for dessert, freshly baked apple pie.

It’s first-come, first-served, while supplies last. Sounds like a good deal, a good time and an all around good thing to do!
