There are a couple of breweries in Maine that just have an attitude and style all their own. Oxbow Brewing Company is at the top of that list for me, and this now annual event called Noshbow (get it… Nosh …Bow?) allows them to share their attitude (and beer) with Nosh for a unique outdoor neighborhood takeover. Noshbow will be taking over the street adjacent to Nosh Kitchen Bar, and will feature bands playing throughout the day, food trucks for tasty treats, and, of course, Oxbow beer.
I went last year and had fun chilling outside, drinking beer out of a neon-orange Noshbow cup while I watched people far more coordinated than myself attempt skateboarding tricks, and others created a graffiti art mural. I was so wrapped up in the spectacle last year, I completely forgot to wear sunscreen and ended up looking like a lobster by the end of the day. Seriously, my tweet about Noshbow last year consisted of:
My only regret is that I neglected to wear sunscreen at #noshbow and a subsequent walking adventure around Portland. #slightlycrispy
This year’s event is this Sunday June 29th and will go from 11am to 6pm, with entertainment dispersed throughout the day. bands/music include Eledemur Krimm, Stone Tools, Covered in Bees, Tigerman WOAH, The Yeti, Doeboy’s Lunchbox, Ryan Augustus, Justin Hogan, Dj Hi-Duke, j the audiophile, and mosart212.
For food, in addition to Nosh Kitchen Bar’s awesome offerings, will be provided by a small fleet of food trucks including Small Axe Food Truck, Hella Good Tacos, Bread & Butter Catering and my personal favorite Pizza-Pie On The Fly.
I’ll definitely be there again this year. But this time, with sunscreen.
