If you haven’t already registered for this year’s Maine Women’s Ride here’s fair warning that time is running short. The event takes place Sunday, June 1 in Freeport and it annually proves to be one of the most fun and laid-back rides of the season. Sponsored by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, the ride features a new 62-mile metric century to the list of options that also includes 10-, 25- and 50-milers. Register today on the BCM’s website. This is a females-only ride with support vehicles and staff, plenty of rest stops and a post-ride party with prizes, yoga, music and food. Cost is $55 for adults (BCM members get a $10 discount). Children ages 12-17 pay $35 and younger kids ride free. If you can’t ride but you’d like to be part of the event, the Coalition is still looking for volunteers.
