Looking for a nice weekend bike ride? Try Maine’s ever-increasing Eastern Trail

If you’re looking for a great place to ride where traffic will be low and the views will be gorgeous, think about the Eastern Trail.

Some 20 years in the building, this trail now covers 20.7 miles as part of the East Coast Greenway.

Press Herald outdoors writer Deirdre Fleming recently published a great column on the history of the trail from start to current mileage and on to future plans. It’s worth a read before you decide to head out for your weekend ride so I thought I’d share.
