Zach Jones releases a new record with special guests Lady Lamb The Beekeeper & Old Soul at Empire tonight

Christmas may have come and gone, but the merry bells keep ringing all around this evening. If you’re looking to take in some terrific tunes, here’s where to go this Friday!

Get your Friday evening off to a great start with some musical merriment over at the Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street in Portland as local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett returns to perform some his acoustic pop, soul and funk songs for ya starting right around 5 o’clock.


If you’re spending this Friday up in The County check out some fine folk and Americana tunes with Travis Cyr and The Strings of Calamity as the act plays a free show at Eureka in Stockholm tonight starting at 7pm.


After 12 or so years of making music together, local act The ToneKings have decided to take a break. Don’t miss your chance to check out their delightful blend of roots, soul and Americana tunes as they funk things up for one last hurrah at The Frog and Turtle in Westbrook this Friday. Show up and show some loves as things get swinging at 8 o’clock.

Erin Harpe & The Delta Swingers will be bringing their fun and danceable Delta Blues style tunes to the stage of Hollywood Casino in Bangor this Friday night. Bust a move and have a blast as this free show gets shaking at 8pm.


If you’re looking to check out some inspiring, energetic and original rock n’ roll this evening, make your way out to the Big Easy Lounge in Bangor to help kick off When Particles Collide’s winter tour with a night of kick-ass tuneage. This party starts up at 8 o’clock.


Things get swinging right around 8 o’clock up at Guthrie’s in Lewiston as The Juke Joint Devils return to kick out some old time, hard driving blues tunes during this free show.


Get rowdy with some rollicking rockabilly tunes courtesy of Ragged Jack as they bring the noise to the Sanford Amvets Hall in Sanford this Friday. This righteously fun party gets underway at 8 o’clock.


Local singer-songwriter Doug Morgan will be performing a free show at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro this Friday evening. Stop by starting at 8 o’clock and have some post-Christmas fun.


Pop-rock n’ rollers Sparks The Rescue will be rockin’ Jimmy The Greek’s in OOB this Friday evening. The dudes will be kicking out their instant party mix of originals and covers things get underway right around 9pm.


The Band Apollo will be celebrating the release of their new record, Soldier or a Spy with a free show at Easy Street Lounge in Hallowell tonight. The act’s new album offers up a wonderful blend of rock and roll infused with hints of soul and club-style pop. These talented fellas draw many of their influences from a variety of artists such as Muse, Audioslave, and Bruno Mars, to Maroon 5, Frank Ocean, and John Mayer. Celebrate the season and the awesome new sounds from The Band Apollo as tonight’s party starts at 9 o’clock.


The Blast Addicts kick off a two-night stint at Ramona’s in Bucksport tonight. Starting at 9 join these cool cats for a non-stop rock and roll dance party that’s guaranteed to get you moving out on the dance floor!


Dance the night away with some quality tunes provided by some of Portland’s hottest DJs down at Flask Lounge on Spring Street this Friday. Starting at 9 this epic (and free!) dance party will feature sets spun by Draw Limit, Kid Ray, Harlock, and Patrick Barry.


Bust out your brightest neon accessories, dust off your legwarmers and get ready to party like it’s 1985 as The Awesome performs all of your favorite 80s jams at Port City Music Hall in Portland tonight. You’ll definitely bust a move as this cover acts plays songs from Hall and Oates, T’pau, Wang Chung, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, INXS, Mr. Mister, Nu Shooz, Peter Gabriel, Madonna, Human League, Wham, Tears for Fears, Whitney Houston and more. The party starts right around 9 o’clock tonight.


Zach Jones will be celebrating the release of his new record, Love What You Love with quite a party upstairs at Empire in Portland this evening.  Starting at 9:30, very special guest Lady Lamb The Beekeeper will kick things off with a performance of some of her newest material, followed by psych-folk-rock act Old Soul and then Zach and his band of some of Portland’s finest musicians will take to the stage to bring his new album to life. Imagine one of your favorite Motown singers fronting all of your favorite 60s pop acts like The Beach Boys, The Zombies, The Kinks, and The Beatles and there you’ll find Zach Jones.
