And we’re back and ready for action this Monday! This week is going to be very merry and bright, so settle in with some live music. Here are the haps for this merry Monday!
Singer-songwriter Michael Krapovicky hosts another free open mic night up at Pedro O’Hara’s in Lewiston this evening. Grab an instrument and get ready to play some songs and have some fun starting right around 6:30.
MJ’s Wine Bar located at One City Center in downtown Portland will be hosting a trio of local jazz musicians at a free show this Monday evening. These fellas are open to having anyone sit in and jam with them, so keep that in mind if you’re into making music with some like-minded musicians. Check out the house band featuring Jacob Cooley, Tony Palumbo and Kyle Friday right around 7 o’clock.
You can also take in some quality, local bluegrass and grab a slice of some of the best pizza in town at Otto on Congress Street in Portland where local picker Joe Walsh and a handful of his friends will be providing a mighty fine Monday soundtrack for ya starting right around 8 o’clock this evening.
Down at RiRa on Commercial in Portland, Evan Walsh will be hosting yet another edition of what he calls an adult talent show, or more commonly, an open mic that starts right around 8 o’clock. EvGuy has instruments available for you to play around on, and if you can’t actually play anything, then he’ll help you out by jamming a version of a song for you to sing! Grab some pals, down some liquid courage (booze), and check it out.
If you’re down in the Portsmouth area tonight be sure to make your way over to The Red Door for tonight’s show featuring two dudes who know how to make some stellar tunes. Starting at 8 o’clock pop-rocker Hutch Heelan will take to the stage for some songs and stories followed by a set from Zach Jones. Zach Jones is in town to promote the release of his brand new record, The Days, which plays out like one of your favorite Motown singers singing all of your favorite 60s pop songs. Basically, tonight’s going to be a blast and a half and you should definitely check it out.
Check out some free music down at the Little Tap House on High Street in Portland where local singer-songwriters Caleb Jones and Olivia Delisle play this evening. The duo play a variety of songs from originals to covers incorporating soaring harmonies, acoustic guitar, fiddle and even a little bit of harmonica action. Tonight’s show gets underway right around 8:30.
