Warm up this Wednesday with Jason Melanson at Flask Lounge

I need to come right out and say that I cannot take any more snow. I know for a fact that I’m going to have to endure some more storms, but I think I’m just going to start living in a world of make believe where Party Jorts are in season and the vodka sodas are cool and refreshing. I will be entering that world with gusto this evening by checking out these hip happenings!

Get things started this Wednesday with the Kelly Laurence duo at Gingko Blue in the Old Port. Starting at 7 check out this lounge singer and synthesizer combo who cover a broad spectrum of classics that you know and love for tonight’s free show.

The Little Tap House on Spring Street in Portland continues its acoustic music series with some songs courtesy of local musician Ian Gans. Ian, who is known for his work in pop-rock act Station 85, goes solo and acoustic this evening as things get underway right around 8 o’clock. So saddle up and enjoy some good tunes and good brews this Wednesday.

Doubting Gravity front woman, Andi Fawcett goes solo tonight as she prepares to play a set of acoustic tunes down at Profenno’s on Main Street in Westbrook. Andi will be providing a wonderful soundtrack to your midweek party starting right around 8 at this free show.

The fellas of North of Nashville head up to Rangeley this evening for gig at the one-of-a-kind Moose Alley. Starting at 8 o’clock the duo will be providing catchy originals as well as toe-tapping covers of all of the best country twang your little heart could desire.

Down at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port you can check out another fun evening of fine folk tunes courtesy of local duo the Squid Jiggers. These fellas will be creating sounds that pair perfectly with an ice cold pint of beer, so swing on by and check them out if you’re downtown tonight.

If you’re looking for some open mic action this Wednesday head down to Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland where you can check out local musicians as they do their thing or you can even sign up to play some tunes of your own. Every Wednesday starting right around 8, local singer-songwriter Nick Poulin hosts this free and fun event.

Acoustic duo, Uke n’ Smile, will be hosting their monthly open mic night down at the Frog & Turtle in Westbrook this evening. Starting right around 8, all musicians of all musical capabilities are welcome to play some tunes during tonight’s event. Tonight’s open mic is free and definitely a lot of fun, so be sure to stop on by if you’re hanging in The ‘Brook this evening.

Local singer-songwriter Jason Melanson will be playing a live performance at Flask Lounge in Portland tonight. Starting at 8:30 you can check out an acoustic set from Jason who’ll be playing some jams to tantalize your earholes.

It’s time to get down to The Asylum in Portland for another edition of Rap Night where the crew will be holding it down and showcasing some of local hip-hop’s best emcees and DJs all night long. Every Wednesday Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra team up to host their weekly party that features the best of the best as well as early and late night open mic cyphers. Get ready to get down as things get jumping right around 9 tonight.
