Travis Cyr releases a new record alongside special guests Tricky Britches at Blue

Oh yes, yes, y’all! It’s time to take it to the limit again this Tuesday in genuine celebration of surviving another Monday! High fives all around! If you’re looking to blow off some steam and let ‘er loose this evening, here are some places to check out!

Take in some great indie rock tunes whilst enjoying some local brews down at Bunker Brewing Company on Anderson Street in Portland. Beginning at 6, enjoy some sweet songs from Asheville, North Carolina acts Gold Light and Elim Bolt alongside special guests The Dying Falls and Lisa/Liza. This should be a terrific way to start your Tuesday evening, so be sure to check things out.

Acoustic roots rocker Travis Cyr will be appearing live at Blue on Congress Street in Portland tonight as he celebrate the release of his brand new record titled “Eureka”. Travis’ pals in the local bluegrass act, Tricky Britches will be on hand as his backing band for a large portion of the evening, so don’t miss out on the fun! Things get started at 7 o’clock and there are certain to be a few surprises in store to celebrate Travis’ latest endeavor.

The Thirsty Pig in the Old Port is geared up for another edition of their weekly open mic night known as The Exchange. Starting at 7 join the folks at The Pig for a gathering open to all musicians looking to collaborate, showcase, and workshop their own original music in front of an audience of peers and friends. All ages, genres and musical capabilities are welcome to join in the creative fun this evening.

Geno’s Rock Club in Portland dedicates its Tuesday night to local beer and local music as a handful of great Maine-made acts join forces with a bunch of local brew masters for an evening that is certain to satiate both your brew and tunes needs. Starting at 7 check out sets from The Yeti, Whale Oil, A Severe Joy and Sylvia with featured breweries Oxbow Brewing Company, Bunker Brewing Company, In’finiti Fermentation & Distillation, and Bissell Brothers Brewing on hand to keep you well-hydrated throughout the night. Maine music and Maine beer — two great tastes that taste great together, so check it out!

One Longfellow Square in Portland’s Live & Local Music Series rages on this Tuesday night with Jeff Beam’s Loudspeaker Wallpaper and Butcher Boy. Every Tuesday evening the venue features a stellar line-up of local talent that gets underway at 8. This week enjoy the psychedelic rock sounds of Jeff Beam and company as well as post-rock folk goodness courtesy of Butcher Boy. The Live & Local Series is helping to expose a lot of newcomers to not only the OLS venue, but also to some great Maine-made music, so be sure to stop in and check things out this evening.

Take on Tuesday with some rollicking rock and roll down at Mathew’s on Free Street in Portland. Beginning at 8 you can check out sets of punk, rock and surf from Gorgon, Thee Icepicks, USA Waste and Cryptid Slaughter.

Party down at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge in Portland with another fun-filled evening of karaoke courtesy of DJ Ponyfarm. If you’re looking to belt out all of your favorite 90s jam, then do exactly that beginning at 9 this Tuesday.

Check out another open mic night specifically designed for DJs over at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland. Tonight’s event allows up-and-coming DJs to take a chance and get up on the tables alongside local veterans. All you need to bring to participate are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome as the fun gets started at 9 at this free event.

West Virginia rapper Huey Mack will be hyping up your Tuesday night alongside special guests Colette Carr, B. Aull, and Miles from Nothing with some high-energy hip hop at Port City Music Hall in Portland. Things get jumping right around 9 o’clock.

Check out Jaw Gems as they get things going right around 10 o’clock tonight down at Local 188 on Congress Street. Every Tuesday this four-piece brings the good times and equally good tunes that include everything from jazz to funk, soul and hip-hop, and everything in between. There’s never a cover charge for tonight’s show, so swing through if you’re looking for some fresh action this Tuesday evening.
