Written by: Holly Nunan

Hopefully we’ve all got a little momentum going after the long holiday weekend and are ready to go with the flow and roll with the punches this Tuesday. Thankfully there’s a ton of great stuff to check out if you’re feeling the need to let loose. Here we go!

Get your Tuesday started with some free tunes at Portland Lobster Company as The Still, featuring local musician Ryan Halliburton and a handful of his talented pals, will be playing an all ages gig out on the deck starting right around 6. It’s the first week of September and soon the leaves’ll be changing color and there’ll be a chill in the air, so get out there and squeeze in as much outdoor fun as possible.

SPACE Gallery on Congress Street in Portland presents a special screening on Finding Fela. Finding Fela tells the story of Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s life, his music, and his social and political importance. His formation of Afrobeat created a musical movement to express revolutionary political opinions against the dictatorial Nigerian government of the 1970s and 1980s. Tonight’s film event gets underway at 7:30pm.
