The Lone Bellow & Aoife O'Donovan perform at Port City Music Hall tonight

I may or may not have had a little too much fun at last night’s Elvis Costello show. Regardless, it’s Tuesday and there’s some fun to be had so get down on it this evening!

If you’re hanging around downtown Portland this evening, be sure to swing through Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street where local musician Paddy Mills will be performing. Paddy Mills is an award winning folk singer/songwriter whose songs are as salty as the Maine coast he calls home. Tonight’s free show gets started right around 6.

Another night of Open Rounds will be happening down at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 7 musicians can sign up to be a part of a 3 person round and pick a song to perform with the other two musicians featured in the round. These rounds are open to any one who enters, so if you’re looking to play some tunes with some other folks you should sign up and check it out. The evening will close with a featured set of songs courtesy of local artist Calen Perkins right around 8:30 or so. This event is free, fun and a great way to network with other talented artists, so swing through and check it out.

The Virginia-based roots duo, Honey Dewdrops makes a stop at Acoustic Artisans in Portland this evening. The Honey Dewdrops blend Americana and traditional folk together to create songs rooted in real life experience. Things get started at 8pm.

Brooklyn Americana trio The Lone Bellow will be performing at Port City Music Hall in Portland this evening. Singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan at Port City will start tonight’s show with an opening set that gets underway at 8 o’clock.

Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland welcomes DJs of all genres and experience to try out their open mic for DJs as the venue hosts yet another dance party, which allows up and coming record spinners to take a chance and get up on the tables during the event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. Tonight’s DJ open mic begins right around 9 o’clock, so check it out.

Another freebie to check out is over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge as DJ Ponyfarm presents another entertainment-filled evening of karaoke. That’s right, if you’re looking to belt it out and be your own rockstar, you can do just that starting at 9 o’clock tonight and with absolutely no cover charge.

Another place to show off your musical prowess is Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port where local musician Jacob McCurdyhosts this week’s edition of open mic night. If you’re a musician looking to play at local bars, you should sign up and show off your skills as you could actually book yourself a paying gig at Bull Feeney’s if you’ve got the right stuff, baby! Tonight’s open mic gets underway at 9:30 and is absolutely free, so get up there and strut your stuff on stage!

Jaw Gems are ready to inject some smooth jazz tunes into your Tuesday evening with a free show down at Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 10, these talented dudes will be laying it down for you to enjoy all night long.
