The Jason Spooner Band celebrates the release of their new record at Slates in Hallowell tonight

I can’t quite wrap my head around the fact that it’s Monday again. If you’re in as much denial as I am about the fact that the beginning of the week is here and the weekend is officially over, here are some cool happenings that’ll make it seem as if the weekend’s been extended right on into Monday! Check it out.

The Kave in Bucksports invites hardcore fans of all ages to check out the show they’ve got lined up for this Monday that is certain to rattle your skull and make you fist pump into the air. Starting at 6 check out sets from Expire, Rude Awakening, Caught In A Crowd, and Free To Think. Again, this is an all ages event that starts early-ish so get ready for some good mosh pitting and check it out.


If you find yourself near the Lewiston area this Monday evening, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky gears up to host another edition of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free shindig gets underway right around 6:30, so grab your instrument of choice and prepare to make some music and possibly a few new friends this fun open mic.


Local folk-rocker, Brian Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes and classic covers at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland tonight. This free show starts right around 7 o’clock, so stop on by if you’re in the Old Port this evening.


If you’re looking for even more open mic action in the Southern Maine area then check out tonight’s event at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30 full bands and solo acts are encouraged to take to the stage and showcase their musical abilities. This open mic is a free, fun way to spend your Monday night, so swing through if you’re in the area this evening.


Congratulate yourself for surviving another Monday by heading out to Otto’s lower Congress Street location to celebrate this momentous achievement with some bluegrass and pizza. Local bluegrass musician Joe Walsh will be joined by a few of his friends to provide a mighty fine musical soundtrack to your Monday evening with this free show that gets underway right around 8.


Local Americana roots rockers, the Jason Spooner Band will be kicking off the Monday Night Concert Series at Slates in Hallowell this evening. The band will be celebrating the release of their fourth studio album Chemical by performing much of the new material live on stage as things get underway right around 8 o’clock this evening.


Folk artists Dave Gunning and James Keelaghan will be sharing both songs and stories on the stage of Acoustic Artisans on Congress Street in Portland this Monday evening. These two notable musicians will be performing at 8 o’clock.


Empire on Congress Street in Portland welcomes North Carolina singer-songwriter and folk musician Sean Hayes to the stage this Monday evening. Dream pop duo, Eric + Erica will open up the night with a set of songs starting at 9:30.
