The Clash of the Titans goes retro tonight at Empire Dine & Dance as The Monkees take on The Beach Boys

Aww yeah! It’s almost time to hunker down and succumb to tomorrow’s food coma. There will be many a vodka soda in my hand come tomorrow evening as I prepare myself for Nunz Family Overload. Thankfully, there are plenty of engaging shows happening tonight to help forget about the awkwardness that sometimes (usually?) accompanies family gatherings. Anyway, much to celebrate and to be thankful for this evening, so check it out!

Doubting Gravity’s frontwoman, Andi Fawcett goes solo this evening with a set of tunes over at Profenno’s in Westbrook.  Andi will be playing some acoustic songs for you to bob your head to starting right around 8 o’clock.

The Clash of The Titans at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland gets a bit groovy this evening as The Monkees go head to head with The Beach Boys.  Will the illustrious harmonies of The Beach Boys spank The Monkees? Will The Monkees comedic sensibilities drive The Beach Boys crazy? Will either band make a believer out of you? Find out tonight when doors open at 9 o’clock. This show is sure to be more fun than a barrel full of Monkees; see what I did there?

Rap Night at The Big Easy in Portland gets festive tonight with a pre-Thanksgiving party that’ll give you something to talk about with all those cousins you haven’t seen since you hit puberty. Tonight DJs Boondocks and Rew will be destroying four tables as Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra take the stage to throw around some rhymes before they welcome Portland act Trails to the stage for their triumphant return to Rap Night. Of course things will draw to a close with an open mic for all those interested in stepping up to the stage. Things get hoppin’ right around 9 o’clock this evening.

North of Nashville is looking to party this evening over at Brian Boru in Portland.  Beginning at 9:30 this duo of gents get together and fuse pop songs with a healthy dose of country and bluegrass for you to tap your feet to.

The Tim Sullivan Trio will be holding it down at The Liberal Cup in Hallowell this evening. Tim is one talented dude who knows how to make people feel fine through playing a bunch of tunes that are sure to get your moving this Turkey Day eve, so if you’re in the area swing on by starting at 9 o’clock.

Ben Kilcollins makes his way to the Union House Pub in Biddeford this evening for a night of acoustic jams.  Kilcollins is a skilled singer/songwriter that you should definitely check out if you’re in the southern Maine area this evening.  His set begins at 6:30pm tonight.

With influences ranging from The Stones, Dylan, The Beatles and Hendrix, you can bet that whatever Steve Jones is laying down is definitely something you wanna pick up and tonight he’ll be laying ‘em down all night long down at The Run of the Mill in Saco.  Starting at 8, you can check out Steve and his band as they play some tunes that are sure to generate some good vibrations.
