The Avett Brothers & Old Crow Medicine Show perform at the Cumberland County Civic Center tonight

All right, get it together. There’s absolutely no need to wallow in the misery that is Monday especially when there continues to be so much great stuff going on all around town and beyond tonight. Blow away those Monday blues with some live, local music!

Pedro O’Hara’s in Lewiston welcomes local pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky to the stage this evening to host another of his weekly acoustic open mic nights. This evening’s event gets started at 6:30 and is absolutely free, so swing through and sing a song or two if you’re in the area this Monday.

Open Jazz Night continues at MJ’s Wine Bar in Portland as they welcome a trio of local musicians to perform this evening. The jazz house band is open to having other musicians sit in and play with them, so keep that in mind if you’re into collaborating with some talented folks. Things get started at 7 and there’s never a cover charge.

Another open mic will be happening down at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco this Monday. Both solo musicians and full bands are encouraged to take to the stage and do their thing in front of a live audience as things get shakin’ right around 7:30. Tonight’s event is a free, fun way to show off your musical prowess.

A really great show happens at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland tonight. This Monday the classic homegrown folk, rock energy, bluegrass soul and pop charm of The Avett Brothers will be coming to life alongside special guests Old Crow Medicine Show, who are set to deliver their own unique brand of American roots tunes with a succinct rock n’ roll attitude. It should be well worth the ticket price for this 7:30 show if you’re into quality roots tuneage.

Enjoy some of the best pizza in town whilst taking in some of the best local bluegrass down at Otto on Congress Street in Portland this evening. Bluegrass picker, Joe Walsh and a handful of his instrument wielding friends will be providing some terrific entertainment for your Monday with a free show that gets underway at 8 o’clock.

And if you’re kicking it around downtown Portland tonight and looking for some quality open mic action head out to RiRa where Evan Walsh will be hosting what he refers to as an ‘adult talent show’. Things get underway at 8 and EvGuy even has some instruments available for you to play. If you can’t actually play an instrument then he’ll help you out by strumming a version of a song for you to sing. Tonight’s open mic is free, fun, and a great way to spend a Monday night.
