Sidecar Radio reunites for one night only with special guests 6gig & headstart at The Asylum

Sweet, lovely, and wonderful Friday! I am so exceptionally happy to see you again. I’d even go so far to kiss you on the mouth, buy you some tacos and even treat you to a nice fancy drink. This week has been excruciatingly long and kind of soul crushing, so I am very ready to let loose, pull up my best pair of Party Pants, and break it on down. Who’s with me?

Singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso, Joel Scott Watson, of The 220s, will be performing a solo acoustic show this Friday evening up at 4Points BBQ & Blues House in Winterport. Starting at 5, check out Joel as he plays some original tunes as well as songs from artists such as The Beatles, Neil Young, Paul Simon and more. Using his guitar, a looping station, and a few effects pedals, Watson’s solo act sounds more like a full band, complete with percussion, guitar solos and even background harmonies. It’s a free show, so be sure to stop by if you’re in the area this evening. 

A free all ages show on a Friday night?! Yup, it’s true get down to Bayside Bowl in Portland to check out some high-energy, always entertaining rock n’ roll courtesy of The Box Tiger, The Field Effect and Worried Well. Again this shindig is absolutely free and gets crankin’ right around 8.

If you’re looking to get your noodle on this finally Friday then head on over to Port City Music Hall on Congress Street where jam band Max Creek will be doing their beginning at 8 o’clock alongside special guests Roots of Creation. 

Ragged Jack has some rollicking rockabilly to set you straight into the weekend tonight. If you’re up in the Rumford area, be sure to stop by Gatch’s for this free 8 o’clock show.

Local folk and blues artist Dana Gross will be playing a free acoustic show up at Guthrie’s in Lewiston this finally Friday evening. Things get started right around 8, so stop in if you’re in the area tonight.

Lady Lamb The Beekeeper returns to New England this evening for a show down at the Portsmouth Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Portland native’s set of soulful indie rock sounds will get started around 8 tonight.

Also south of the border tonight, blues and psychedelic folk artists Jonah Tolchin and Old Soul will be joining forces once again to play a show at the Portsmouth Book & Bar. This evening’s gig gets started at 9 o’clock.

Get the party started with local pop-rockers Kilcollins over at Binga’s in Portland tonight as the fellas are ready to rock the night away with a free show that gets underway right around 9.

Central Maine pop-rock act, Tomorrow Morning will be doing it to it up at Chummies in Ellsworth this Friday. Check out these fellas as they play a variety of cover tunes and originals starting at 9.

It’s been a solid 2+ years since local rock act, Sidecar Radio brought the thunder and properly rocked and rolled on stage together. Thankfully the fellas will be reuniting for one night only to melt faces straight off the bone for a show that’s certain to deliver.  Join Sidecar Radio tonight as they take to the stage of The Asylum alongside special guests 6gig and headstart. The party starts a 9 o’clock and I’m pretty sure you will not want to miss it. 

Looking to show the dance floor a lot of love by busting a move to some of the smoothest house grooves around? Then take a trip down to Flask Lounge in Portland where Mr. Dereloid and special guest DJ Nocturnal will be joining forces for a solid four hours of good vibes and good tunes starting right around 9. 

Andi Fawcett and the fellas of Doubting Gravity will be bringing you some of the best original pop rock around upstairs at Brian Boru in Portland tonight. Starting at 9 you can check out Andi and the fellas as they fill your finally Friday with good times and good tunes.

The 4th annual Music Saved ME concert to benefit the Children’s Oncology Center at Eastern Maine Medical Center takes place this Friday up at Tantrum in Bangor. Check out the sounds of Sparks The Rescue, Spose and One Shot Nothing as they take to the stage to raise some money for this great cause starting at 9.

If you find yourself south of border this evening and in the Newmarket, New Hampshire area, stop by The Stone Church where a wonderful night of inventive, alternative indie-rock will be happening. Starting at 9, take in some tunes from Whit Walker, Animals and Shapes and Tall Horse.

Mathew’s on Free Street in Portland has a night full of loud, heavy rock n’ roll as Foreign Tongues, Swamp Water, Pleasure Gap and Travis Alexander take the stage at 9 tonight.

Empire in Portland welcomes a trio of musical acts to their stage to pump out some live roots, reggae, and dub-step jams for your finally Friday. Beginning at 9 check out some high-energy sets of danceable tunes as Roots, Rhythm & Dub, Stop Tito Collective and Gorilla Finger Dub Band bring the party for those who love all things reggae and dub.

Starting at 9:30 upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port, local act The Dapper Gents will be ready and rockin’ some fun folk-pop jams for your finally Friday. There’s never a cover charge so swing through and get your dance on tonight.

Blue in Portland welcomes back the Acadian Aces to the stage tonight for some authentic Cajun tunes. The Aces will be serving up classic Cajun/Acadian music all night long during this free show that gets started at 10 o’clock this Friday.
