ShaShaSha, Line of Force, John Nels & Gabrielle Raymond do good at The Empire tonight

We’re almost there, my babies! We’re getting closer and closer to making our way into the freakin’ weekend and thankfully this Thursday is priming itself as the kick-off to another event filled few days. I hope your Party Pants are ready for some serious action because here we go!

Shanna and Kirk Underwood will be playing an early evening show at Urban Farm Fermentory in Portland this Thursday. Join the duo in the cozy tasting room space for some fine folk, Americana and country tunes. There’ll be Urban Farm Fermentory cider and kombucha on hand as well as some tasty baked goods, so swing through starting at 7 o’clock and check it out.

Alter Igor will be rocking out The Liberal Cup in Hallowell with their blend of classic tunes. These fellas will be playing everything from Nick Lowe to The Who as they get things underway right around 7 tonight.

Brothers Cody and Clint Phipps will also be up in Hallowell this evening as they bring their acoustic country-rock act, Pitch Black Ribbons to Higher Grounds. You can check these fellas out as they play a set beginning at 8 o’clock.

Portland indie/prog rock act, Probably Dog, heads south to The Hive in Kennebunk for some good times and good tunes starting at 8.

If cool jazz and fancy drinks are more your style this Thursday, then might I suggest taking a trip down to Gingko Blue on Fore Street in Portland where the Tony Boffa Quartet will be laying down some smooth sounds for ya starting right around 8 o’clock.

Baltimore’s Future Islands returns to SPACE Gallery on Congress Street in Portland with their exciting live performance of synth-pop that pairs soaring melodies with undeniable rhythms. Disco Phantom will be offering up DJ sets in between performances from local opening act Contrapposto. Things get underway right around 8:30 tonight, so be sure to check it out.

If you’re up in Lewiston tonight make your way down to Irish Twins Pub for another edition of open mic night with singer-songwriter Matt Fournier. Grab your ax and get ready to bust out some jams as tonight’s event gets underway right around 8.

Some of my favorite folks from The County will be joining forces to do some good up on stage at The Empire in Portland tonight. Starting at 9, swing through and check out the French Connection Vol. 1 which will be featuring performances by John Nels, Gabrielle Raymond, Line of Force and ShaShaSha. These Aroostook County natives’ musical mastery includes everything from psychedelic indie rock to soulful jams and soaring vocals or talented singer-songwriters. This is certain to be one helluva Thursday hang, so check it out!

Kilcollins will be pop-rockin’ all night long at RiRa on Commercial Street this thirsty Thursday. Starting at the fellas will be busting out all sorts of tunes that you know in love alongside some catchy original stuff. Tonight’s show is free, so check it out if you’re downtown this evening.

Get down to Gritty’s in Portland to check out the fellas in Vinyl Tap as they cover everything from Sir Elton to The Beatles, Cee Lo and many, many more. If you’re looking for a non-stop dance party, then swing through as they start playing at 9 and there’s never, ever a cover charge.

Hello Newman is ready once again to pump out the jams with a free night of fun upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port. Starting at 9:30, the fellas will be rockin’ all of your favorite 90s tunes. There’s never a cover, so check it out if you’re feeling a little nostalgic this evening.

Portland trio Micromasse will be playing a free show down at Sonny’s in the Old Port this Thursday evening. Beginning at 10, you can check out the stellar sounds that Chris Sweet, Max Cantlin and Pete Dugas make together by using guitar, drums and organ to pump out the jams.
