Sam Roberts Band and special guest Jeff Beam rock and roll at Port City tonight

Joe Cocker is providing the theme song for my Thursday because I’ll tell you what, I’m feelin’ all right! And you should too because tonight is packing a serious punch. Lots of good times and fun to be had at the many awesome shows happening all around this evening so get out there and do it to it, my babies!

Get your Thursday night started with some Happy Hour tunes courtesy of local singer-songwriter Michael Krapovicky as he plays an acoustic set at Rooster’s in Augusta. Michael will be playing some original material as well as some well-known covers during this free and fun event, which gets underway right around 5:30 this Thursday.


Creative rock power-trio, A Love Electric will be live at 430 Bayside in Ellsworth tonight. Led by guitarist and vocalist Todd Clouser, A Love Electric carries the sonic legacies of psychedelic rock, New York City’s downtown scene, and introspective songs into new territories. Having performed over 150 concerts in 2013 across three continents, the band has gained praise from critics and fans of rock, jazz, and experimental music alike. Special guest James McCown will get things rolling right along beginning at 7 o’clock.

Check out the Americana and blues stylings of local musician Frank Fotusky as he takes to the stage of Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in downtown Portland for a free show starting at 7 o’clock this Thursday evening.


Local act, Voxzilla brings their three-part harmonies rooted in the vocal stylings of old-school country, R&B, rock and roll, folk, blues, and gospel to the stage of Blue on Congress Street in Portland this Thursday evening. Tonight’s free show starts at 7 o’clock.


Don’t forget to check out Slab on Preble Street’s resident house band, Monarck Lisa as the act kicks up some good times and good tunes at tonight’s free, all ages show. Things get swinging right around 7 o’clock.

Sparks the Rescue’s Toby McAllister goes solo tonight for a special acoustic performance at the Fire House Grille in Auburn this Thursday. Beginning at 7:30 Toby will be performing some of his favorite STR originals as well as some covers of popular tunes from the past 20 years or so.


The Rhythm Kingz will be rockin’ The Cage in Lewiston for another Blues Night this Thursday evening. Tonight’s free party starts at 7:30 and will feature a full night of awesome, local blues.

The Dogfish Bar & Grille, located on Free Street in downtown Portland, welcomes back talented local singer-songwriter, Isaiah Bennett. Starting at 8 stop in to check out Isaiah’s distinctive blend of acoustic pop and funk during this free, fun event.

Folk/pop singer-songwriter Brett Dennen makes a stop in Brownfield, Maine this Thursday evening for a special performance at Stone Mountain Arts Center. Get ready for a night of songs and stories as things get underway around 8 o’clock tonight.


Singer-songwriter, Natalie Merchant will be performing songs from her new self-titled, self-produced record that is her first original release in 13 years. As one of the members of alternative rock act 10,000 Maniacs, Merchant has accumulated a large and faithful following. Tonight she returns to Portland for a show at the legendary State Theatre, which gets underway at 8pm.


Port City Music Hall on Congress Street in downtown Portland welcomes the Sam Roberts Band to the stage this Thursday evening for some anthemic, feel good rock n’ roll. The band’s latest release, Lo-Fantasy, finds the fellas experimenting with electronic, dance and new wave elements. Portland’s own experimental, psychedelic rock and roller, Jeff Beam will kick things off tonight with an opening set of tunes starting right around 9 o’clock.


If you’re looking to shake your can to some quality house music make your way over to Flask Lounge in Portland for this Thursday’s Techno is for Lovers event featuring Hjort & St. Pierre with Elusid. Shake it on out at tonight’s free dance party as things get shaking around 9 o’clock.


The Wicked Woods and Oliver Waterman will be rockin’ Geno’s on Congress Street in Portland this Thursday evening. These two local acts will be tearing up the stage starting right around 9 o’clock.


Talented, local troubadours, Samuel James and Dana Gross, will be teaming up once again this Thursday to bring you an evening filled with terrific blues-based folk tunes at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 9 this dynamic duo will be singing some songs, plucking some guitar strings, and sharing some stories to enhance your Thursday evening, so be sure to stop in and check things out if you’re kicking around the downtown area tonight.


Local pop-rockers, Kilcollins are back on the stage of RiRa tonight as they get the party started around 9 with their party mix of original material and awesome cover tunes. Tonight’s show is absolutely free so swing through if you’re Thursdaying in the Old Port!


Sonny’s in the Old Port hosts local musical duo Humperdinck Humperdink and Glass Joe (aka local musicians Corey Gagne and Pete Dugas) in the lounge as the pair serves up some swanky old school tunes for your Thursday evening. The pair is known to blend equal parts Bowie with Radiohead for a sound…and style…that is truly all their own. Check ‘em out as tonight’s free shindig gets swinging right around 9 o’clock.

The Dapper Gents are back at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port tonight as they have been, and will be, each and every Thursday as part of their new musical residency. Join these fun fellas for some awesome folk-pop and rock originals as well as covers during this free party. The good times start rolling along right around 9:30, so check it out!

In case you missed the, the Bramhall on Congress Street in Portland is back in business and they’re gearing up for yet another Thursday filled with some of the best bustling bluegrass out there with local act Jerks of Grass. The Jerks will be providing some toe-tapping tunes during their free, weekly show, so stop on by as things get kickin’ right around 9:30.

Royal Hammer will be supplying some raging reggae for your Thirsty Thursday over at Brian Boru in the Old Port. Starting at 9:30 the Hammer will be throwing down and making some smooth reggae sounds as they full throttle into a Thursday night throw down.

Vinyl Tap is back at it tonight to play a plethora of songs that are certain to get your Thursday night rocking and rolling. Starting at 10, check out these fellas’ covers of everything from Stevie Wonder to The Beatles, Huey Lewis, Elton John, Charlie Daniels, and more. The party starts at 10 over at Gritty’s on Fore Street in the Old Port.
