Rockin' the vote this Tuesday!

No matter what you do tonight, make sure that today you get out and rock the vote.  It’s important and you’ll get a nifty sticker to wear out on the town this evening to prove to everyone how awesome you are. There’s my political piece. Now if you’re looking to throw down this Tuesday and forget politics, here are the places to do so!

Maybe all of the political ads and incessant emails from presidential candidates has you wanting to thrash it out hard this evening, well thankfully there’s a show happening at Studio 250 on Read Street in Portland that might just do the trick for ya!  Starting at 6 o’clock an all ages punk rock show for the masses will begin featuring California’s Souvenirs alongside New England acts American Verse, Gravel and more.

DJ Ponyfarm presents another entertainment-filled evening of karaoke over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge in Portland tonight. That’s right, if you’re looking to belt it out and be your own rock star, you can do just that with absolutely no cover charge starting right around 9 tonight. Bring some buds, ingest some liquid cougar (boozey booze) and do it to it.

The Big Easy’s terrifically fun Tuesday night event, Cover to Cover keeps crankin’ ‘em out this week as special guests, Doubting Gravity, take on No Doubt’s classic album Tragic Kingdom.  Andi Fawcett, who fronts Doubting Gravity, will no doubt slay this album. (See what I did there?)  Not only will these pop-rockers be covering Tragic Kingdom in its entirety, they’ll also be playing some new tunes from their upcoming EP to start the evening off right.  The party starts right around 9 o’clock tonight!

Over at Local 188, the Tuesday night staple which is the fantastically funky and equally ferocious Jaw Gems who get down with a set of tunes starting at 10pm each and every Tuesday night. This four-piece brings the good times by creating pleasing sounds that include everything from jazz to funk to soul to hip-hop and pretty much everything in between.  There’s never a cover charge so if you’re looking for some fresh, fun action tonight, check it out.
