Rock the night away with Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies at Empire Dine & Dance

Yay! Here it is one my favorite days of the week has returned and once again without fail it brings us a surplus of awesome things to check out. So let’s go ahead and Thursday, shall we? Here we go!

If you’re kicking around Westbrook tonight, stop by The Frog & Turtle on Main Street where the acoustic duo known as Uke n’ Smile will be doing their thing. Uke n’ Smile features David Jacquet on ukulele and Keith Kitchen on percussion. It’s a free gig, there’s tasty food, and boozy drinks, so check it out beginning at 7.

Portland’s own twisted rockabilly rockers and rollers Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies return to Empire Dine and Dance on Congress Street in Portland for their Thursday night residency with a high-energy show downstairs that fires up right around 7:30.

One Longfellow Square gears up for an evening full of insightful songs and rootsty, folk, blues and rock n’ roll tunes from two very talented women. Tonight Eilen Jewel headlines a show that will be opened up by Portland’s own Darien Brahms. Things get underway right around 8 o’clock tonight, so check it out.

Local pop rockers Two Lights take to the stage of The Big Easy in Portland tonight to celebrate the release of Dispatch Magazine’s latest issue, which features the band on the cover. The show will also double as a release party for their EP Year’s Get Gone. Portland scene veterans Sparks The Rescue will kick things off as the evening gets underway right around 8 o’clock.

Sorcha & The Clearing will be bringing their sultry jazz tunes to Blue on Congress Street in Portland this evening. The band just recently debuted as a five-piece and will be doing their thing starting right around 9 o’clock this evening.

North of Nashville will be rocking their weekly gig over at Brian Boru right around 9:30pm and won’t stop the party until last call. Jay and Andrew bring their love all of all things twang to life this evening with a free show that’s always a ton of fun so check it out this thirsty Thursday.

Go on and get your 90s nostalgia on as Hello Newman prepares to party down at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port tonight. Beginning at 9:30 the fellas will heat things up with everything from Sublime, Blink 182, Chumbawumba and more.

Vinyl Tap is gearing up to bring the Thursday night thunder once again to Gritty’s in the Old Port this evening. These fellas are known for making people bust a move to their awesome and exceedingly danceable cover tunes that vary from Huey Lewis to Cee Lo Green, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and everything in between. There’s never a cover charge and plenty of beer, so chck it out starting at 9:30 tonight.

Pop-rockers Kilcollins play their regular Thursday night gig down at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland tonight. Starting at 9:30, these talented gents will be rockin’ and rollin’ to all the classic cover tunes you know and love, so check ‘em out.

DJ Jazzy Chas and the Del Rossi Posse is bringing the party to the Run of the Mill in Saco this evening.  Tonight beginning at 8 o’clock you can enjoy some funky soul, jazz, hip hop and pop covers from this group of party people all for no cover charge.  So if you’re around the York County area this evening, swing on by and check ‘em out.

If you’re down south tonight, you can check out a show full of the Seacoast’s best acts over at The Red Door in Portsmouth. Tonight New England’s newest hit-makers, The Connection, who relish in everything rock n’ roll via 1960, play a show alongside the pop-punk act Zipgun Bomber. Things get shakin’ right around 9. Expect special guests for The Connection’s set as they celebrate guitarist Geoff Useless’ birthday.
