2014 has been pretty a-okay, but it’s time to say goodbye and make way for a brand new year. I’m pretty certain 2015 has a ton of terrific things in store for us, so let’s celebrate properly this evening by checking out the massive amount of parties that are happening all across the state. The Sofa Kings will be rocking GFB Scottish Pub in Old Orchard Beach tonight will their party mix of classic rock tunes. Tonight’s free bash if a great way to ring in the New Year as the music starts up right around 8 o’clock.
The Eswhy Eskay A Farm in Cape Elizabeth presents a free, all-ages New Year’s Eve party featuring some punk, ska, folk and indie rock courtesy of Street City Surf, Trippy Stick, Turny Les and Crater Show. The fun starts at 8pm.
The Ramada in Lewiston will be ringing in 2015 with Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations. Starting at 8 o’clock, this fun act will be bringing down the house with a masterful mix of Motown and Memphis soul that’s certain to get you working it out on the dance floor this New Year’s Eve.
Lots and lots of great tunes and delicious food will be happening at The Frog and Turtle on Main Street in Westbrook to help you bring in the New Year properly. Starting at 8, they’ll be serving up a 5 course meal for the admission of $65 per person (21+). Lots of great eats as well as solid soul music courtesy of local act Downeast Soul Coalition.
Bring in 2015 with a bang out at The Landing at Pine Point in Scarborough as local party act The Time Pilots bring a you a night of non-stop dancing. If you’re looking to get down to some great tunes and enjoy some tasty food from The Black Tie Company, be sure to make plans to be a part of this party, which gets underway right around 8 o’clock.
Five-piece classic rock and roll act Five Face North will be partying up at Sea40 in Lewiston this New Year’s Eve. Join them for an evening of good times and good tunes as things get started up right around 8.
Local rock and rollers Rock Revelation will be playing at Season’s Downunder Club in Bangor this New Year’s Eve. The party starts at 8:30 and the $29 ticket includes a champagne toast and midnight buffet.
Say goodbye and good riddance to 2014 and hello to SPACE BALL 2K15, brought to you by the local beat connoisseurs of TRVP NITE and Gold Drop Records. Ring in the new year with some of Portland’s finest DJs such as God.Damn.Chan., Don Damiani, and Che Ros, accompanied by the always mind-bending visuals of the Psychologist. The Jason Spooner Band will be performing at Boone’s Fish House & Oyster Room in Portland for the 2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Charity Gala to benefit No Kid Hungry, a wonderful organization focused on ending child hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day. During this evening’s event, enjoy a fireside 5-course meal on the first floor or join Jason and crew for a live performance on the second floor that’ll feature small plates, a raw bar, and tons of prizes and giveaways or do both! Local jazz performer Viva will be bringing her vivacious vocals to Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street in Portland for a very special funky New Year’s Eve of funk, jazz standards, soul songs and Latin tunes that are done by Viva and her talented band with a fun and modern twist. Party on into 2015 with some of the best alt-rock tunes the 90s had to offer with local act Hello Newman. The fellas will be busting out songs from Sublime, Blink 182, the GinBlossoms, Everclear, No Doubt and even Chumbawumba upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port. If you’re up in Bangor tonight head over to Sea Dog Brewing Company where local prog-rock act The 220s will be ushering in the new year with some awesome songs for you to shake your can to. The 220s draw their influences from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Rush and tons more to create a sound that is truly all their own and certainly pleasing to any discerning ear hole. Check ‘em out starting at 9:30 tonight.
