Pete Kilpatrick Band rocks Port City Music Hall with good times for a good cause

I guess if I were going to hand out any advice on this finally Friday, I would say go hard or go home because there’s a whole helluva lot happening tonight and it’s looking like tomorrow will definitely be more of the same. Remember to hydrate and to also eat food before, during, and after consuming adult beverages. And for the record, a bowl of cereal does not count as food when it comes to drinking.  You can thank me for all of these wonderful words of wisdom later…once you’ve sobered up. Anyway, enough mothering, let’s see what’s on the agenda for this evening!

Blue on Congress Street in Portland will be hosting its monthly Songwriters in the Round event this evening starting at 6 o’clock. This month indie-folk singer Pete Miller, Greg Klein of Dark Hollow Bottling Company, and The Ghost of Paul Revere’s Griffin Sherry will take to the stage to spin some tales and show off some new tunes as well as some tried and true classics. It’s all ages, free and certain to be a good time, so check it out early this evening.

If you’re looking for some feel good jams and find yourself a bit north of Portland tonight, then head on down to Hoxter’s in Hallowell where Maine musicians Jason Jamora and the Northeast Carry will make you dance all evening long starting right around 7:30pm.

The handsome and talented fellas of Tricky Britches will be throwing down some old timey, roots and bluegrass tunes at the Local Buzz in Cape Elizabeth tonight. The fellas will be serving up their own brand of back porch style bluegrass beginning at 8 o’clock.

Portland pop-rockers, the Pete Kilpatrick Band hit the stage at Port City Music Hall in Portland tonight for some good times for a good cause. Tonight the fellas team up with opener Ryan Wimbish to raise money and awareness for the Coastal Conservation Alliance and their work to restore striped bass to Maine waters. Things get underway right around 8 this fine Friday evening.

Local pop rock sirens Andi Fawcett and Jenny Haley will be doing their thing over at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland tonight.  Beginning at 8:30 you can check out a free acoustic set from the duo.

A big ol’ Ides of March dance party blows on through Empire Dine and Dance in Portland tonight. Starting right around 9, get ready to groove out to The Beat Horizon, Gorilla Finger Dub Band and JoJo Calavera.

If you’re looking to shake your moneymaker to some house music then head on over to Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland for another edition of Friction Friday. Tonight drum & bass extraordinaires Chris Gauthier, All Night Pony, Andy Gravity and Sketch Rokk will be on hand providing you with ample jams to break it on down to. Tonight’s dance party is absolutely free and gets underway at 9 o’clock.

Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in downtown Portland offers up an evening of eclectic music featuring four unique Portland-based songwriters. Tonight take in sets of everything from progressive indie-folk to sparse ballads of love, death and regret to some straight up blues rock all for free as Starlight Cicada, Oliver Waterman, Erik Neilson, and R.S.O. take to the stage for this Friday’s free show, which starts right around 9 o’clock.

Maybe some high-energy, high-quality RnR (rock n’ roll!) is what you’re in need of for this finally Friday. If that’s the case be sure to head down to The Big Easy in Portland where three local acts team up to bring the thunder this evening. Prepare to get rocked and rolled by Heart Shaped Rock, Clubber Lang and Fifth Freedom as things heat up right around 9 o’clock.

Put a little dip in yo’ hip tonight up at Bray’s Brew Pub in Naples as Mama’s Boomshack gets ready to funk it up! A full on ragin’ dance party full of funk, soul and everything in between commences right around 9 tonight.

If you find yourself south of the border this Friday evening you can check out Brooklyn piano rocker Marco Benevento as he makes a stop in Portsmouth tonight over at The Press Room. Tonight’s show starts at 9 o’clock.

Local pop-rockers of the butt kicking cover band (yes, I used the phrase ‘butt kicking cover band’ and meant it), Kilcollins will be doing their thing tonight over at Bull Feeney’s in Portland.  Rocking and/or rolling commences at about 9:30 tonight.

North of Portland, over at Paddy Murphy’s Bangor, The Blast Addicts will be partying with some party rockin’ and rollin’. Starting at 9:30, bust out those Party Pants and get ready to bust some moves with this super fun rock band.
