Written by: Holly Nunan

Happy, Happy, Happy New Year! I hope you all had the opportunity to bust a move all around town and beyond last night as there were a plethora of places to party at. Here’s to a year filled with all of the best things, and if you’re lucky enough to have tomorrow off, here are some places to get down on this first day of 2015!

Join Dave Rowe, The Squid Jiggers, Half Moon Jug Band and pretty much anyone else who shows up at Dave’s house with a musical instrument for an online holiday party chock full of music and fun. Head on over to the online concert venue here right around 2pm and join in on the festivities.

Lots and lots of stringed things, foot stomping, and fun will be happening at the Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street in Portland as they welcome back Mountain Emergency for a night full of bustling bluegrass music. This free event is all ages and gets started at 8 o’clock.

The Bramhall on Congress Street in Portland invites you in for another Thirsty Thursday filled with some of the best bluegrass around as the Jerks of Grass bring their toe-tapping tunes to life during this free show, which gets kicked into high gear right around 9:30.

Get the New Year started with some party tunes at Brian Boru in the Old Port as Captain Ray and the Castaways keep you dancing all night long with some classic rock and roll. This free and super fun show will get swinging right around 9:30.
