I will openly admit that I have been a dragging a bit of tush all week long and therefore am thoroughly and pleasantly surprised by the fact that it’s already Wednesday. This realization has made me a very happy Nunz because it means we’re one day closer to raging out in our Party Jorts this weekend. Wednesday is offering up some wicked decent party spots, so do it to it tonight!
Let’s start with a ruckus down in Portsmouth, NH tonight as Boston’s own gypsy-folk, roadhouse rockers Kingsley Flood teams up with Eddie Japan and experimental, borderline-pysch-folk act B.A. Canning at The Thirsty Moose Tap House. The party starts hoppin’ right around 7 tonight, so if you’re in the Seacoast area stop by and check it out!
If you’re looking for some open mic action for your mid-week party planning, then head down to Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland where starting at 8 you can check out local musicians do their thing or even sign up to play some tunes of your own. Every Wednesday night local singer-songwriter Dustin Saucier hosts. Tonight’s event is absolutely free and will be followed by a featured performance from local acoustic rocker, Paul Chase, so swing through if you’re downtown this evening.
Super awesome show to check out at SPACE Gallery in Portland tonight as Jonathan Richman, songwriter and guitarist for the influential Boston punk band The Modern Lovers, does his solo thing tonight. Check him out as he does his thing beginning right around 9 tonight.
It’s gonna be crankin’ down at The Big Easy in Portland as another Wednesday with Rap Night will be highlighting some local hip-hop emcees all night long. Every Wednesday the dangerously awesome duo known as Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra team up to host their weekly party that features some of the dopest emcees and DJs around. Blast off with the crew beginning at 9 o’clock tonight.
Work it out this Wednesday over at Flask Lounge in Portland where another installment of Unknown Pleasures will be taking place starting right around 9. Tonight’s post-punk, synth-pop, new wave, goth-industrial dance party is free and fun, so check it out if you need to shake them hips!
Pop-rock kings, Kilcollins will be laying it down at Oasis in the Old Port this Wednesday evening. Beginning at 9 you can do all kinds of rockin’ and rollin’ with these fellas as they play all kinds of tunes that you know and love as well as some catchy originals that are sure to become certain favorites. It’s free, fun and I would almost guarantee a good time, so get to it if you’re kickin’ around Wharf Street this evening.
