MC22 hosts an epic bboy battle at this week's Rap Night at The Big Easy

Oh man, it’s been a while since I’ve been pushing this hard for the weekend, but we’re already to Wednesday and almost half way there to a freakin’ long weekend, my babies. So keep doing it to it and get out there tonight as Wednesday has a crap-ton (actual scientific unit of measurement) of awesome stuff going on. Here we go!

Over at Gingko Blue on Fore Street in the Old Port you can check out local blues/jazz singer/songwriter Stesha Cano as she does her thing starting right around 6pm. There is never ever a cover charge at Gingko, so grab some pals, a fancy drink and ease your way into Wednesday night.

Bull Feeney’s on Fore Street in the Old Port welcomes the Squid Jiggers to the stage once again for another Hump Day chock full of the duo’s own brand of folk music. These talented gents will be playing tunes for you to throw ‘em back to starting at 8 o’clock.

Get your Wednesday going by checking out some free open mic action of the acoustic persuasion down at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland. Tonight marks another edition of their open mic series hosted by local singer-songwriter and pretty much all around talented dude, Dustin Saucier. Starting at 8 you can check out some local folks do their thing as well as sign up for a slot to play some tunes of your own. The event is always free and always a great time and a great way to meet new local musicians so stop on by and check it out this evening.

Ben Kilcollins makes his way on over to RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland for some acoustic jam action. Kilcollins is a skilled singer/songwriter that you should definitely check out if you’re hanging around the Old Port this evening.  His set gets underway right around 8:30.

Things are going to get down right crazy over at The Big Easy in Portland tonight as Rap Night presents the second annual Seven 2 Smoke Battle. Tonight seven hand picked bboys will be competing against one another for a $100 cash prize. Tonight’s open mic portion of the evening will also boast a $50 cash prize to the most applauded emcee. Local rhyme slayer and hip-hop heavy MC22 will host tonight’s event, which gets underway right around 9 o’clock!

Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland presents another installment of Unknown Pleasures, a post-punk, synth-pop, new wave, goth-industrial throwdown dance party. The fun starts at 9 o’clock and is absolutely free so check it out.
