Live & Local continues at One Longfellow Square with S.S. Cretins and AFRAID

Written by: Holly Nunan

Geez Louise Macaroni & Cheese, I am having a very, very difficult time getting back into the swing of things after my mini-Thanksgiving break. Thankfully there are a ton of great shindigs to let loose at this Tuesday. So if you’re feeling the need to hike up your Party Pants a little earlier than usual this week, here are some haps to hang out at this evening!

Singer-songwriter Brian Patricks will be joining forces with bassist Damon Holman to bring their acoustic rock and blues duo, Cayden’s Call to Fast Breaks in Lewiston this Tuesday. Check these fellas out as they get the good times rolling right around 7 o’clock.

Cassidy Holden returns to Blue on Congress Street in Portland this evening. Holden, a jazz artists, specializes in double bass, guitar, and banjo. Cassidy promises a swingin’ good time as things get underway during this free event right around 7 o’clock.

Things get wonderfully weird during this week’s installment of Live and Local at One Longfellow Square as they welcome two Portland acts to the stage for a night of Maine made tuneage. Tonight take in the psychedelic, garage rock burners of S.S. Cretins alongside the hip-hop influenced, electro-indie rock jams of AFRAID. Get your freak on as things get underway right around 9 o’clock.

Check out tonight’s open mic specifically tailored for DJs and producers over at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland. Tonight’s event allows up-and-coming record spinners to take a chance up on the decks alongside DJs Kid Ray and Mechanism. All you need to participate are some records, CDs and a controller. All formats of music are welcome as things get cranking right around 9.

Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port is geared up for another acoustic open mic night with local folk-pop artist, Jacob McCurdy. Join in on the fun as Jacob invites all types of musicians onto the stage to perform at this free event, which gets underway right around 9.

Check out an awesome, laid back hang this Tuesday at Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland with the fellas of Jaw Gems. These dudes will be bringing the good vibes with their experimental jazz jams starting right around 10 o’clock.
