Ian Fitzgerald performs at Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight

Doing it to it is the only way I can really describe how I’m getting through this Monday. If you’re chugging right along and looking to let off a little steam, here’s a rundown of what’s the what for this evening! 

Make the most out of this late summer Monday evening by taking in a free show out on the Portland Lobster Company deck in the Old Port with local musician Ryan Halliburton and a few of his musically inclined pals. This talented troupe of local artists will be performing a variety of covers and originals as tonight’s all ages, free event gets underway at 5pm. 


If you’re near the Lewiston area this Monday evening, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rock artist Michael Krapovicky gears up to host another edition of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free and fun open mic gets underway right around 6:30, so grab your instrument of choice and prepare to make some music and possible some new friends!


Massachusetts-based folk artist Ian Fitzgerald will be performing a free show over at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland this Monday. With influences ranging from Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, Hank Williams, to Gillian Welch, Ian’s live show is certain to please so be sure to make some plans to drop on by as things get underway at 7 o’clock tonight. 


If you’re looking for even more open mic action tonight then check out tonight’s event at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30 full bands and solo acts are encouraged to take to the stage and showcase their musical abilities in front of a live audience. This open mic is a free, fun way to spend a Monday night, so swing through if you’re in the Southern Maine area tonight.


September marks the last full month of The Oak and The Ax’s existence as one of the most unique venue’s to check out intimate performances from a plethora of stellar musical acts. Make sure you get yourself down to a few shows this month starting with tonight’s event featuring the post-rock folk sounds of Butcher Boy, The Flies?, and Gregory McKillop. Things get underway at 8 o’clock. 


Don’t miss out on some good times and good tunes out on the Slab patio this Monday evening with local musicians Lyle Divinsky, Dominic Lavoie, Tony McNaboe and Adam Frederick. These talented fellas will be coming together right around 8 o’clock to serve up some entertaining free tuneage.

Congratulate yourself for surviving another Monday by making your way down to Otto’s lower Congress Street location to celebrate this achievement with some bluegrass and pizza. Local bluegrass picker Joe Walsh will be joined by a few of his friends as they team up to provide a mighty fine musical soundtrack for your Monday evening with a free show that gets started at 8pm.
