Hutch Heelan and Jake Roche pair up for a night of tunes and tales at Sonny's

Here’s the deal: there are way too many things going on this evening for me to get cheeky with you guys. You’re either in or you’re out this Thirsty Thursday and trust me, you really want to be in, so slide into those Raging Shoes, hike up those Party Pants and get ready to full throttle into this Thursday.

Why not start things off with some funk, soul, and smooth R&B jams to ease you on into the freakin’ weekend this Thursday? If this sounds like your kind of party then make your way down to The Frog & Turtle on Main Street in Westbrook where Adam and The Waxmen will be delivering smooth sounds to your earholes starting at right around 7 o’clock. There are tasty drinks and no cover, so check it out if you’re in The ‘Brook.

Join local indie folk-rocker, Rob Cimitile for an early evening of heartfelt singing and guitar slinging down at Local Sprouts on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 7, you can check out some original tunes from Rob at tonight’s free and intimate show.

Sometimes all you really need is a good belly laugh and tonight at The Asylum you’ll be able to get exactly what you need thanks to the return of Local Laughs.  Beginning at 8 o’clock you can check out comedy sets from local laugh-masters Eric Oren, Billy Gray, Doug Collins, Nick Lavalle, Ian Stuart and John Tole.  There will be food and drink specials and the whole entire shindig is absolutely free, so stop by and laugh it out.

Local folk/country star Shanna Underwood will be performing a free set of tunes at the Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street in Portland. Stop by for some good eats, good times, and good tunes, which get underway right around 8 this evening.

The fellas of Vinyl Tap are ready to party down at Gritty’s in the Old Port this thirsty Thursday. Vinyl Tap is known for making people bust a move to their awesomely danceable cover tunes that vary from everything such as The Beatles, Huey Lewis, Cee Lo Green, Stevie Wonder, The Dead and many, many more. There’s never a cover charge and plenty of beer, so check it out starting at 9:30 tonight.

Bust some sweet dance moves, mellow your mind, and hula hoop the night away down at The Big Easy in Portland for another fun time with the one and only Band Beyond Description. Far more than just your typical Grateful Dead cover band, these fellas will jam out accordingly on everything from the Allman Brothers, Phish, The Band and much more. Anticipate good times, good tunes, and good people starting right around 9:30 this Thursday evening.

Pop-rockers Kilcollins settle in for their regular thirsty Thursday night gig over at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland. Starting right around 9:30, these fellas will be rockin’ and rollin’ to all the classic cover tunes you know and love, so check ‘em out.

Two pop-rock troubadours get ready to serenade Sonny’s in the Old Port with a mix of original tunes paired with some clever covers tonight. Starting at 10 o’clock check out Hutch Heelan and Jake Roche as they team up for a night of guitars, songs, drinks, and fun. There’s no cover, so stop on by and show this duo of dudes some love.

A big ol’ 80s and 90s alternative dance party rolls on through Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge this evening with another installment of DJ Silverchild’s Hang The DJ! Starting at 10 o’clock, get ready to shake your can to everything from The Cure, The Pixies, Morrissey, Bjork, The Offspring and more.
